Philly Beer Week XII: We’re Gonna Need A Bigger Boat

Join us for 10 days of lively beer-soaked events in America’s Best Beer-Drinking City™!

PBW2019 is the culmination of 12 years and nearly 12,000 events, and undoubtedly remains the 10 most important days on Philadelphia’s beer calendar!

DON’T MISS … DUVELDELPHIA

This 6.8% hoppy blonde was brewed in Belgium by raffle winners from La Cabra Brewing based out of Berwyn, PA alongside the 148 year-old family-owned brewery, Duvel. This collaboration blends Duvel’s mastery of fermentation and La Cabra Brewing’s American-style hopping! Idaho 7 and Citra hops provide a fruity bouquet balanced with a dry body.

BUT WHAT ABOUT THAT BOAT?
SS United States is a retired passenger liner built in 1950–51 for the United States Lines. The ship is the largest ocean liner constructed entirely in the United States and the fastest ocean liner to cross the Atlantic in either direction, retaining the Blue Riband for the highest average speed since her maiden voyage in 1952.

The United States maintained an uninterrupted schedule of transatlantic passenger service until 1969 and was never used as a troopship. She’s been parked at Pier 82 on the Delaware River, in Philadelphia, where she remains today.
