Proprietor, Garrett Lee Williams (Cicerone © Certified Beer Server) started off on the road to brewing instructor in a coffeeshop. Going from Barista to Manager to Events and Education Coordinator before leaving the world of caffeine for that other legal mind-altering beverage: wine. After several years of management at local wine, beer and cheese restaurant Tria, he left in search of grainier pastures. Delving into beer and becoming a published writer, instructor and history nerd. In addition to HBE, Garrett is the General Manager of Evil Genius: The Lab, the brewery’s 15bbl tasting room with room for over 300 guests. He is also a Board member of the United States Bartenders Guild.
